Hello old friend we have missed you. Dropped in tonight on a whim. Sooo glad we did. Everything was excellent. We will be back soon

Was on vacation and decided to try this place because of the location . The atmosphere was great and neatly decorated . The food was great. The only downside was the staff . They were extremely slow, and not attentive . It took forever to get our food. Not sure if I would come back because of the service .

Keep walking down to Crafted Tap House + Kitchen. My girlfriend and I stopped into Cricket's Restaurant for an after dinner drink post our pleasant dining experience at Crafted. Needless to say we were far from impressed by Crickets cocktails. We would have been better off mixing kool-aid and vodka in our motel room. We ended up going back to Crafted to end the night where the drinks and staff were much more enjoyable.

Had the cinnamon crusted pork. One word fabulous!! Yukon gold mashed potatoes amazing! Even the sautéed vegetables were amazing! Waited a little long for the food but worth the wait. My only complaint- do not order the mud pie it's not worth gorging yourself because you can't put the fork down. (Best desert ever) Also had the oysters on the half shell. Very fresh. Good job guys.

Ryan the waiter is like a magical unicorn that services his tables with pizazz and heroism. Everything he did was perfect. The owners of this place would be hurting if they ever lost a waiter like Ryan . Unicorns are rare . Ryan is the equal mythological creature of the food industry.

This review is for the bar only... Not a lot of choices behind the bar in terms of beer, however the service was great and the bartender was friendly. Overall a nice atmosphere for a Friday evening - a lot quieter than some other places I've seen at that hour.

The fish tacos were great. The fajitas were good. The service was awesome. Could barely put down a plate before anyone passing by would offer to grab it.

We have a big table of 10 with 4 kids on Saturday night, part of our dinner party was late and quite rude when they finally showed up, but regardless of that, our service was outstanding! Our waitress. Alex, was very patient and took great care of us and even put the kids order in early so they wouldn't have to wait as long. Great food, fun atmosphere, definitely going back.

Not sure what all the low ratings are about; I think people just need to have reasonable expectations and view things for what they are. This is a sports bar. As such, the atmosphere, the service, and the food is actually considerably better than expected! We came here on a Monday night when we couldn't find anywhere else to watch a game (stopped by at least three other sports bars in town, only to find each of them packed to the brim with no room for us to even enter the building not to mention find a seat). We found a very comfortable booth quickly, despite the fact that this place was pretty busy as well. They have plenty of TVs all over the place; no matter where you sit, you're bound to have a good view of one. Major plus, considering the fact that this is a sports bar after all! The waitress came by within a couple of minutes; very friendly, good service. Granted it wasn't lightening fast, but you're not exactly in a rush when hanging out at a sports bar, are you?! We felt relaxed and enjoyed the game while she got our food together. Everything ordered was delicious, especially considering that again, this is a bar! The oysters were a little overpriced... but delicious. The steak I had was fantastic -- and for a great price, to boot! The only small annoyance for me personally was the drunken man at the table next to us -- couldn't stop screaming his head off about some sort of a business deal or something, all I could hear the entire night. But again, comes with the territory when you hang out at a sports bar, right?! Will definitely return on a game night!

I used to eat here years ago when it was a fun family restaurant, but wow has it changed! Yes, now it is pretty much a bar with restaurant seating; but just because it is a bar doesn't mean it can't live up to basic expectations, right? The restaurant was filthy, the service was slow, and the food was mediocre. But the real pinnacle of my visit to Crickets was at the end of the meal when I went to use the restroom. The ladies' stall showed obvious signs of recent use by a heroin addict. Yikes! I won't be back.

The service was okay, the food was okay. My enchiladas were good, the chicken sandwich was soggy, the salad was soggy and the chowder bread bowl was perfection. The Royal Flush was just sugar. Not worth the fifteen dollars for the drink. The mixed drinks are very weak, ew. Great seating and atmosphere.

By far my favorite Sunday stop. Always great upbeat service and it doesn't take forever to get your food! Oysters and seafood always tastes fresh. And we LOVE the fish and chips. This is by far my most recommended place in town

Liked the patios and nice dive bar feel, rather unimpressed with the drinks and food. - Follow up 1 week later: Now that I've been contacted thrice by "managers" or "waitresses" or "concerned citizens" who clearly been in a tizzy over my "OK" review, lets get real. BF ordered a Manhattan (I don't know why he did such a thing, maybe because there weren't any appealing options on the menu) and it seemed like the bar had to look up how to make it and went with the first yahoo answer they found, which was gross. I asked the waitress for a cocktail suggestion, she said Huckleberry Vodka something. It tasted like college. I don't even remember the food at this point. I figured I'd share my discovery with Yelp, since the other Yelp reviews were all over the place, probably because the 5-star-ers have some kind of money or friendship at stake. Then all these "compliments" roll in from managers demanding to know what I ate, whether I was a robot, and generally being cloying. So, I'm back to officially announce, yes I'm human. This restaurant is aptly named Crickets--persistent, loud and annoying. Please stop contacting me.

The definition of average- looking for a safe bet that's a bet? Bet on this when you're downtown.

Found this place just walking down the road after a little bit of a motorcycle ride and were starving. Actually it was the first place we saw. They had an outside patio on the street, so you can people watch while you eat. We sat there for a bit before we got served. Our table had some water leaking on it so we moved to another table and got service. I think they just didn't see us in the corner. Our server was great. She was very informative and friendly! I ordered the club sandwich and fries. The fries came cold. The sandwich was really really great! Our server ordered me fresh hot fries to replace the cold ones immediately. It took a little bit to get the hot fries but when they came hot they were great as well! Hubby had the Philly cheese steak for first time ever with coleslaw. He said it was really good! The coleslaw was yummy and made fresh in-house. I loved the ice tea!!! So much so I got it to go! Went inside to use the washroom to discover this place is huge inside! Plus they have another outside covered deck looking towards the lake on the back as well! It was cooler to sit in the front patio than the back today, but I'd definitely check out the other deck if one is full! Go!!! It's really great food!! We went there twice during our two day stay!!!

Calamari and Irish trash can! Love this place to meet up for drinks with friends. Always had good food and good priced drinks.

The service was not very good. Our server seemed more interested in flirting with the other table than taking care of her other guests. Food was very hit or miss. The pasta was not very good but the fish tacos were yummy.

Ate here the day after christmas. Every other place had a long wait. My brother had a hamburger he almost couldn't finish with onion rings. My niece had a cheeseburger she loved and ate all of and got a ice cream cone with oreos and sprinkles. My sister and mom had chicken frangelico. I had the steak. My brother loved the burger. Half of the chicken went home with both ladies. They loved it but it was almost family dinner size. It was great but too much food.(so, good for your budget.) My steak was the best I've ever eaten ever. Cooked perfectly, amazing herb butter on the top. Large though, so I took the yummy loaded baked potato home for next day dinner. My waitress was awful but I overheard two other waitresses that knew their stuff. If my family wasn't so judgey I'd love to try the oyster bar.

Came in with one other person during the 4th of July parade. Since the parade was only halfway done, we decided to hit the restaurant since we weren't into watching or trying to shop with the crowds. We are not from the area (me- los angeles and friend - southern ID). Outside front seating was obviously full. I think the back deck was open but we opted for a booth inside. We were seated right away. Waitress was wicked nice. I am vegetarian so I was pleasantly surprised to see a bean patty burger option. I ordered it with swiss cheese and mushrooms. Literally, right away my burger patty fell apart on the first bite. The entire thing crumbled into hundreds of pieces. I tried to keep stuffing it back into the sandwich prior to each bite but I gave up halfway through and ate the lettuce, tomato and mushrooms instead. See my photos. The patty itself was ok tasting although I'm not a fan of red peppers... As a vegetarian, this happens a lot. Local joints (I totally love and support) that do not have a ton of vegan or vegetarian clientele, don't have the motivation to upgrade their options. It happens all the time....even california pizza has one of the crappiest, most friable bean burger patties I've ever seen. If they read this and care to maybe experiment...one of the best bean patties I eat is a bean and red beet patty. They put the beans and beets in it, mix with onions and whatever other flavoring components and put some potatoes or another starch compound (not a lot) to help hold it together. When it grills, it should hold it in and the beets give it a very good taste and appearance. Burger was 2 stars. I specifically asked if the onion rings were freshly made or frozen. The waitress said freshly made with a beer batter. They lacked in taste for me. And they were perfectly shaped. Perhaps use more flour and add some more flavoring. The batter was flat and kind of soggy. I ate 3 before I gave up. My friend has the veggie sandwich and he said it tasted ok but it also fell apart (but, it's just veggies, so no stars off for it). We didn't order drinks, so cannot comment on that. The bar looked like it could probably be fun for nightlife. The booths were those old, semi-circular ones...vintage. reminded me of an old cocktail bar from the twilight zone. It was a cheap lunch but predictable. Would I return? Yes, but I'd order something different and no onion rings. I would not return if it was busy...seemed like many options in the area and a wait would turn me off.

Amazing, I think not. Let's start off with the 12 inch hair in the fish and chips. Server handled it very professionally. My sister in law asked for an extra slice of onion and was charged $1.50. I don't recall every being charged for a slice of onion..anywhere. Ahi salad was poorly executed. We had the ribs. So, so. Nothing to rave about. Warm coleslaw, cold fries. Look, I rarely use Yelp but this meal was so disappointing. Sorry. Just sayin

It's shocking to see Yelp use and abuse businesses like these. I am another local restaurant owner who also deals with 5* reviews disappearing and 1* reviews being left. Yelp is a joke, Crickets is a wonderful establishment. Food is always amazing, servers are always attentive and nice. We just left there and we had a better experience than most fine dining restaurants can offer. Don't let yelp and other social media bullshit get you down. As business owners we need to fight back, customers are not always right anymore, most are just keyboard pirates. Oyster on!!!

Awesome variety on the menu and good classic American atmosphere. Food took a little while to arrive but when it came we learned why. It was fresh and real and layed out nicely on the plates. Pics to follow

First let me start with a compliment, were greeted by several people. I stated there were 6 of us and would there be a wait- they said no and took us back by an open kitchen. Got drinks and wanted to order appetizers at the same time, however did not get an opportunity as the waitress rushed off. After an hour and five minutes of waiting for our simple dinners to arrive I stood up, the waitress made and exude that they are slammed- I walked around finding maybe a handful of tables and a 21st birthday on the back patio. I honestly believe the kitchen forgot about us, since we still had to travel down the Spokane river ( now in the dark) I asked to cancel- she told me it was headed out. So I requested a bill and boxes. The kitchen frankly dumped the uneaten plates into containers leaking all over. I asked to speak to the manager who took two cocktails off our bill. Wondering how we would eat this food on a boat we started with simple sides like fries, they were over cooked and so salty they could not be eaten. The cinnamon pork loin was thrown in a box, quick busted through the TO-Go container and all over the plastic bag. My daughter corn dogs were still frozen inside. Pretty much all of the food ( over $100 worth) ended up in the trash and we ate sandwiches. Note to management/owners, you serve a tourist community where many patrons come via boat. If you are so very busy don't seat people. Train your staff not to gossip, argue or discuss personal problems where your paying customers can here you. Unfortunately we will not be visiting your establishment again. What a waste. UPDATE Robert C seems to be pretty arrogant via yelp and Facebook. I have a long career in customer experience and account management and would never ever call a customer names. Unfortunately in the days of customer comment cards where I left with my number or email to be contacted he made a choice to instead of contacting me to gain further information call me a spoiled American. Apparently a man named Rico Ciccone is the opener of this establishment maybe they are the same guy- not sure because the first time I called and asked for the owner I was hung up on, the second call gave me a name. I am sure he listened closely to the audio on those tapes so he can hear exactly what we did or his response wouldn't be so condescending. I started the first review with a compliment on how friendly the staff was, if you take some time and read this business responses to reviews on both yelp and Facebook I hope you are as appalled as I am.

I knew it was a mistake from the moment we walked in. Yes, its a dive bar; however, that doesn't mean that it has to be bad. The service was slow and it took for ever to get our server's attention. The food was mediocre. Our chili was cold (ironic), we sent several items back for chef micro. It was a rainy Friday, around noon time. Crickets was about 1/3 full. Avoid, I will not return. Update: 5/26/15. Verified that my review was correct. We only ate in the bar, my original review stands. I am not sure if the owner is trying to pressure me to change my review.

We came here for a late-night bite. The food took over 30 minutes to come to us, and the Thai pizza we had was very salty. After one slice, I had enough. How do you over-salt a Thai pizza? Somehow, the cook figured how to do that. Definitely won't be coming back. Update: Customers: The owner replied with a comment about disregarding negative reviews because they are fake. Ummm...this is real, dude! And yes, the Thai pizza was very salty. If you don't believe me, try a piece from the to-go pizza box we left at our table. Three others at our table tried it and said it was too salty. The service was friendly and others at our table enjoyed their meals. But your Thai pizza was very salty and your service was slow. And this review is 100% real. Second Update: Upon looking at the owner's response, which was a link about Yelp's apparent methods of extorting businesses, and upon reading other reviews that had similar issues we experienced (with responses from the owner that were similar to my review ), it is obvious that Crickets likes to point the finger without realizing there are three fingers pointing back at them. We will never return. And we will suggest others do the same. Third Update: The owner sent a direct message to me that said "please don't return." Keep it classy, Crickets. Keep it classy. :) Fourth Update: A user named Libby G., an apparent friend of Crickets who shares a similar anti-Yelp philosophy, sent me a harassing message. Jesus! I've had better customer service at Comcast. And that is something no one has ever said in the history of life up until right now. Lol. Fifth Update: Holy cow! Yet another harassing message from a Crickets' associate. The previous one came from a Libby G., while the new one came from a Naomi G. Both profiles offered glowing reviews of Crickets and extremely negative reviews of Yelp and Yelp's business model. And both have sent me harassing messages that I've reported to Yelp. A new mission in my life is to spread the word about these weirdos and to encourage a boycott of Crickets. Game on!

Very disappointed with the service we received Sunday july 5th...our waitress very short tempered and RUDE.seems she doesn't know her information of food or beer...seemed to be put out by others too, around us.. I realize it was busy but a smile isn't that hard to give and may I suggest a reply of "will that be everything today? Instead of '"is that all?...it was lunch time and we were just ordering a appetizer and beverages...she accidentally spilt beer on me as in my chair and it got my side splashed..instead of oh I'm sorry ,&stop with the bill she was giving to the NX table , and go get me napkins, she proceeds to give them their bill and bus the empty table next to it..I had to go inside my self and get napkins..and as I told the hostess about the situation all I got was 'ohhhh sorry SWEETIE'....really..SWEETIE??? What a day..the food was wonderful ..beer nice and cold ..SERVICE?not a good recommendation NICOLE..LETS HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER DAYS

If I could give this place 2.5 stars, I would. We had the huckleberry Margarita, which was very, very good! They blended the fruit for the drink freshly! Shrimp cocktail was ok. Shrimp was probably frozen, and the cocktail sauce tasted store bought. The cauliflower soup and salads were excellent! We then got the Thai pizza, the blue onion burger, and the Frangelico chicken. The chicken was great, albeit a bit dry, with a very generous portion. The burger was just ok, cooked well but nothing really special. The Thai pizza was probably the worst pizza we'd ever had. Dough was raw and flavorless, way too many sprouts, and not at all Thai! It tasted bland, undercooked, and sour! I guess we should've listened to our waiter who tried to steer us clear of the pizza. Service was good and they have a game table, which was fun! All in all, there are far too many other options in CdA to spend your time here. Other than the pizza, there was nothing extremely bad with this place, and it wasn't too pricey, so this review is mostly relative to the great establishments surrounding crickets. Find better elsewhere, as there is nothing special to be found here. But if you do come here, steer clear of the pizza!

We had great service and meal. Just moved to the area and wanted oysters on the half shell. We were hesitant after we read reviews but glad we ignored them. Our waitress Bonnie was awesome, attentive and recommended the perfect drink when my husband couldn't make up his mind. The clam chowder bowl and chicken Alfredo were both great. Highly recommend for a relaxing night out.

Great little bar. Not an awesome beer selection but reasonable. The service was great and friendly. Didn't try the food but it like about like what you'd expect. I was there on a Tuesday and the place was quiet which can be good.

Went for lunch and ordered the soup & salad combo. The waiter was great, the food was ok. The soup was over salted, and I'd order dressing on the side next time. They have a full wall of TV's showing sporting events. It would probably be a fun Sports Bar.

  • Nathan B.

The service was excellent here. We were seated within 60 seconds of showing up despite it being the weekend and the place being packed. Our server was busy so someone (from the kitchen or bar, I don't know) made sure that within 2 minutes of us being seated our drink and appetizer order was taken. That's efficient service. I ordered a Priest Collar to drink. It's Guinness floated on hard cider. A variation on the Black and Tan that I'll be ordering again next time I eat here. The fish and chips were not bad, but not great. The batter didn't have much flavor and the tartar sauce was meh. My wife's bruschetta chicken sandwich was apparently not great either as she only ate half and stopped because she didn't like it. The clam chowder was awesome though. It is the best chowder I've ever had outside of Boston. (You can't beat the chowduh in Boston folks. It's wicked delicious.) I'm still giving this place 4 stars because they earned it with the level of service we received. There are other dishes we'd like to try so I'll be back to give the food another shot.

I like this place. The service is not very consistent but the food, beer, and prices are reasonable. We like coming on Tuesdays for the trivia.

Diappointed to the point of being insulted. Wait staff was slow and uninterested. We waited almost two hours for half of our order to arrive. Instead of owning up and trying to make it right our waitress decided to lie to us about the kitchen being backed up. When we spoke to the owner he was more interested in making sure we left rather than customer service. If you are not young and local don't waste your time and money here.

Brand new in town ... wandering around, looked like a nice place from the outside, wasn't overly crowded. (A few other places nearby, I couldn't even get a seat .... should have been a clue). Place was half full. Picked my seat, ordered a beer ... took a while to get it. Ordered a pizza ... was average at best. Still service was slow. Took forever to get a second beer, took even longer to get a check. I would have bypassed the second beer if I'd known it was going to take so long to have to pay. If it's busy or the servers are short, I get it. But I saw my server spending a good amount of time hanging out at the bar rather than tending to his customers. With many choices downtown, I doubt I'll go back.

1 of 2, full-on sports bars, in CDA (that I know of). The other is Capone's. While they are both great at what they are meant for, they couldn't be more different. Unlike, Capone's, this sports bar is huge and has a more open and roomy feel to it. Capone's is more of a local's place that's a bit more inviting and cozy with 3x the beer selection on tap. Deciding which one is "your kind of place" is going to require you visiting each one. I like them both.

Food was Applebee's wanna be grub, nothing was very good or worth the money. But the locals seem to love this place, personally I wouldn't go back for food, maybe for the nightlife.

every year our family goes to this restaurant before the tree lighting, never again! 4 times I had to send soda back because they couldnt get it right! soda for god sakes! I ordered a vodka tonic and got gin. I asked for a half order of potato skins and never got them. to top it off the table next to us was clearly over served and out of control. did I mention that I had to ask for silverware? when I complained tbey didn't seem to care. this was the first time ever that I did not leave a tip.

Well having eaten and drank here two dozen times, I feel I finally need to say something about this place. I like the beer! I love the shots! I like the servers! The oysters are pathetic however. Never will I ever get them again. They are always small , taste like crap and appear to have been frozen. The food is hit or miss. The burger sliders can be good, or really bad. The ahi salad is usually good. I do like the club sandwich and their fries are average. I have not had good luck on any of their steaks. They used to have open mic and always a small band, check to see if that is still on but the sound can get over the top loud...too loud due to its small area where band plays. They do have outdoor seating with tvs for any game. Great in the few months of summer you have in Cda. This could be an awesome place with a few adjustments to it. They do have kids eat free nights which can help a parents budget. The fireplace is the place to dine when chilly outside. Not a must visit place when in Cda, but its not a bad place to get stuck at either.

I ordered the Reuben (as usual) and it was very good. The bread was a little too thick and overcooked just a touch but the flavor was good and the meat was tender. My wife ordered the fajitas and was pleased with them. The portions were decent and the price fair for the quantity and service. All-in-all a nice place to grab some grub. Also sitting on the patio had a nice view of the park and lake.

The California Melt is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My taste buds were not impressed by the Salmon Sandwich on their current menu. :( The fries are fun, especially for the kids as they are shaped as smiley faces! :)

The prices seriously high for reheated FSA grub. My Bloody Mary had a stupid giant piece of celery in it... awkward. I thought they would have some special take on.. well anything. but, its just like a less successful Applebees in there, with similar music and ambiance. nothing special at all.

We just drove into town and were looking for a place to grab a bite and a beer. This place in many ways felt like a dark and grungy Bennigan's. It is probably a fine place to grab a beer and watch a game but if you are looking for more than that, I would go elsewhere. Service was horrible and the food was okay at best. We later noticed that they might have a nice patio out back but I doubt we will be back.

  • Matt C.

I've ate here several times. Always a great experience except for once when we had a crowd of 15 on the patio, even then I thought it was reasonable. My family comes over around Christmas, cause they love Coeur D' Alene around Christmas time. We've ate here the last 2 holidays. I've lived in Spokane for almost 5 years, and this is the restaurant I've ate at the most. Only found it 3 years ago too. I will come back several times throughout the year.

We've eaten here several times for lunch and have generally enjoyed the better- than-usual pub grub that they serve here. Service was a bit slow last time around and we had to track down the waiter to get our check. Good location in downtown.

Went in for a lunch on a Sunday. Was told we could sit anywhere, so we sat in the quiet restaurant part away from loud tv's. We were then told to get out of this area because there was no waiting staff for it? The kitchen is in this area! It made no sense. So we had to sit by loud tv's, food was just so-so, and prices are a bit much. Haven't been back since....

DO NOT ORDER THE OYSTERS! Wish we had read the reviews before. We had the pan-fried oysters and I think they use their old oysters for those. They were greasy and mushy and had a funny flavor. Should have sent them back. The cod fish and chips have a very thick batter on them, but the cod was good. The sandwiches other tables had ordered looked good. Bottom line-there are better places in Coeur d'Alene to eat. Don't waste your time & money (and digestive system!).

Recently had lunch here. (Who knew this LA girl would ever step foot in the state of IDAHO?) The service was great, and my salmon was accompanied with this creamy, yummy sauce - don't ask me what it was called, I was too busy scarfing it down... Deducted one star for falsely advertising clean restrooms. Can a girl wash her hands with some soap, please...C'mon!

Stopped in this place during a little jaunt to Coeur D'Alene while visiting some friends in Spokane. It's a seat yourself kind of place (at least it was during lunch on a Saturday) so it took us a minute to get noticed by our waitress. We decided to eat at this place because they advertised "duck farts" outside...so we had to see what they were about. They are little shots of Kahlua, Baileys and Crown...my boyfriend really enjoyed his! We all ordered different meals and everyone seemed to enjoy them except my friend who ordered pizza. He described it as "boring". Other than that my halibut sandwich was delicious (of course a girl who lives by the ocean orders fish when she goes inland...). We ordered a round of Bloody Marys with lunch, and they were delicious! Probably one of the best i've ever had. The only downside was that the bathrooms were clean but I was weirded out by the brown splatter paint on the door... gross!

I will say they do try hard here. They have a kids eat free deal that is nice and the prices all around are reasonable. The service is normally pretty good but the food is just average in my opinion.

We heard Crickets was the place to go in Coeur D'Alene for oysters. We went in at lunch time, only one other table had customers. The hostess told us to sit wherever we wanted and followed us to the table. We were in the process of sitting down when we realized the table was dirty and covered in crumbs. The hostess says something to the effect of "you guys picked the only table in the place that's dirty". Not true, but anyway... we were already seated so we assumed she would come back with a cloth to wipe down the table. Never happened. She returned with our drink order and asked what we would like. When we ordered oysters we were told they were out of oysters, they had a really busy night the night before. So we politely told the waitress we were there for the oysters and if they were out we would go elsewhere. They're an oyster bar right?? And they were out of oysters. On top of that, obviously no attention to cleanliness and customer service. We will not be going back.

Just okay, average pricing, food and service. Nice downtown location among other bars and restaurants.
